Retreats, Camps, and Adventures for Your Child
Your child may benefit from spaces where they can connect, express themselves, and just be kids. This page highlights retreats, camps, and adventure programs designed to offer support, build community, and create meaningful, joyful experiences. These opportunities can help children process their feelings, gain confidence, and feel less alone during a challenging time.
Camp Kesem
Children 6–18 years old, whose parents have cancer can attend free overnight summer camps, day programs, and virtual meet-ups. Year-round services are also available, along with support for family members. Programs operate in 40 states and Washington, DC.
Camp Māk-A-Dream (MT)
Cost-free, medically supervised camps in Montana include programs for youth, teens, siblings, and families affected by cancer. In addition to adult offerings, youth-specific camps provide structured activities in a residential camp setting.
On Belay (NH)
In New Hampshire, children who are 8–18 and impacted by a loved one’s cancer can participate in free adventure-based programs. Activities include games, challenges, support groups, and community events. Participants can attend as many programs as they want.
Pickles Group
Kids from 6–18 years of age, whose parent or caregiver has cancer can access free peer-to-peer support. Programs are run by trained volunteers with backgrounds in education and youth development. Both online and in-person events are available.
