Young and Strong: Who We Are

Around the corner or across the nation, we empower young adults with breast cancer—and those who love them—by simplifying access to trusted resources for coping, managing, and living fully, across all stages and phases of care.

Established in 2005 and embedded in Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Susan F. Smith Center for Women’s Cancers, the Young and Strong Program for Young Adults with Breast Cancer provides comprehensive care and support to young adults confronting the challenges of living with and beyond breast cancer. We have guided more than 9,800 young adults on their journeys, offering comprehensive care, support, and programs tailored specifically to them.

Hands of diverse people stacked together showing unity and teamwork, with colorful clothing in the background.

What We Know

At Young And Strong, we understand that young adults with breast cancer are managing a serious illness and may also be dealing with concerns about future fertility, considering genetic risks in treatment decisions, parenting young children, finishing school or managing careers, and building relationships.

Young and Strong is within Dana-Farber’s Breast Oncology Center which is committed to preventing, treating, and defying cancer by accelerating revolutionary science, extraordinary care, exceptional expertise, and essential opportunities.
